engaged IT, economics and administration students, as well as schoolchildren, teachers and local organisations with her Blue Skills Lab project, delivering an intensive programme of daily workshops in schools and weekend community labs across the South Aegean and Ionian Islands. These activities led to more than 50kg of marine plastic being repurposed through circular design, and to 500 schoolchildren and over 6 000 educators learning about ocean literacy and upcycling. In addition, 80 IT and economics students were trained in environmental data auditing and circular economy principles, including technical protocols for microplastic detection, oil spill simulation, and water purification.

Sofia Chanioti
I am an environmental educator and sustainability consultant, dedicated to transforming climate awareness into tangible, real-world impact. I am the founder of 4env, an initiative recognized by UNEP and named the Youth Winner of the European #MakeEUBlue Awards 2026 by the European Commission (CINEA) and the EU4Ocean Coalition. My work focuses on cultivating ocean and water literacy, fostering ecological consciousness, and equipping the next generation with vital green skills. Through the "Blue Skills Lab" project, I design and deliver hands-on, experiential learning programs, intensive school workshops, and community labs across the Greek islands. By training hundreds of students and thousands of educators in microplastic detection, circular design, and environmental data auditing, I empower schools and young citizens to become leading forces in environmental restoration and sustainable development.
