<title>Can a wall of bubbles save our rivers from plastic?

Did you know that most of the plastic polluting our oceans actually travels there through rivers? Cleaning up the open sea is super hard, so an amazing Dutch company had a brilliant idea: what if we stop the plastic before it gets to the ocean?
Here is how this magic trick works:

A tube of air: A special pipe is placed on the bottom of a river, pumping air to create a wall of rising bubbles!

The invisible wall: When placed diagonally across the current, the bubbles push floating plastic straight into a collection net on the riverbank.

Safe for nature: It doesn&#039;t block fish from swimming or boats from passing by! It already cleans rivers in the Netherlands and Portugal, and it captures about 86% of the plastic! It&#039;s a fantastic example of how science and smart engineering can protect our blue planet.

How would you use bubbles or technology to clean up your town? Tell us in the comments!</title>

<title>Did you know that right in the heart of the Gulf of Naples hides a treasure that looks just like a tropical coral reef?

In July, divers from Greenpeace Italia and the Blue Marine Foundation, alongside researchers from the University of Genoa, dove into the waters of the Banco di Santa Croce to study and document an incredible variety of life!
What did they find underwater?

A colorful world: Vast populations of red and yellow gorgonians in great health and extremely rare colonies of black coral!

Many marine friends: Dentex, groupers, and stunning eagle rays swimming freely.
Some challenges: Researchers spotted benthic mucilage (growths caused by altered environmental conditions that risk suffocating the seabed) and pressures from heavy boat traffic.

Currently, this area is already a Biological Protection Zone, but the goal is to include it in the proposed expansion of the Punta Campanella Marine Protected Area to give it even stronger protection!

This story is a perfect example of how scientific research and citizen action join forces to protect our sea and help achieve the global goal of protecting at least 30% of our oceans by 2030 (part of the AMPower project).

How would you protect the sea near your home?</title>

				<title>&#x1f30a; Defending Our Inland Waters: The Inspiring &#039;Guardians of the Rivers&#039; in Slovenia &#x1f1f8;&#x1f1ee;

Inland waters are a crucial part of the Blue Education ecosystem. In Slovenia, the grassroots initiative Varuhi in Varuhinje Rek (Guardians of the Rivers) is leading the way in raising public awareness about the current state of Slovenian inland waters and the threats they face.

The organization focuses powerfully on bottom-up civic action. They organize and participate in workshops and meetings for members of civic environmental initiatives to exchange experience and information. These collaborative spaces allow local activists to discuss advocacy approaches and coordinate impactful campaigns on both local and regional levels. Furthermore, they organize public events where members of these initiatives have a chance to present their work to the media and the wider public.

It is a true Model of Active Citizenship, teaching about river conservation through the lens of local &quot;Guardians&quot; shows that protecting community waterways is a democratic responsibility accessible to everyone.
It is the perfect inspiration to transform environmental education into concrete community-driven action! &#x1f331;&#x1f4a7;</title>
