Can a wall of bubbles save our rivers from plastic?

Did you know that most of the plastic polluting our oceans actually travels there through rivers? Cleaning up the open sea is super hard, so an amazing Dutch company had a brilliant idea: what if we stop the plastic before it gets to the ocean?
Here is how this magic trick works:
A tube of air: A special pipe is placed on the bottom of a river, pumping air to create a wall of rising bubbles!
The invisible wall: When placed diagonally across the current, the bubbles push floating plastic straight into a collection net on the riverbank.
Safe for nature: It doesn’t block fish from swimming or boats from passing by!
It already cleans rivers in the Netherlands and Portugal, and it captures about 86% of the plastic! It’s a fantastic example of how science and smart engineering can protect our blue planet.
How would you use bubbles or technology to clean up your town? Tell us in the comments!
