The three-day training brought together teachers, environmental educators, scientists, and representatives of environmental organizations to explore and adapt the Educational Marine/Freshwater Areas methodology for implementation in Greece. Led by the French Biodiversity Office (OFB) in collaboration with the Hellenic Centre for Marine Research (HCMR), under the scientific coordination of Dr. Yolanda Koulouri, the seminar combined hands-on activities, collaborative learning, and co-design workshops. Participants worked together to develop educational resources, simulate the implementation of Educational Marine/Freshwater Areas, and propose a framework tailored to the needs of Greek schools and local communities. Beyond the exchange of knowledge, the training fostered a growing network of educators, researchers, and environmental practitioners committed to strengthening ocean literacy and empowering young people to actively participate in the protection of aquatic ecosystems. This marks an important milestone towards introducing Educational Marine/Freshwater Areas in Greece and advancing innovative, participatory approaches to environmental education. ]]> 0 0ecacde2f04fef2448751afd5f341890 Pe valea râului Strei, în Geoparcul Internațional UNESCO Țara Hațegului, proiectul „Zâna Viață și Monstrul de Plastic” ajunge la final. Prin activitățile desfășurate, elevi, profesori și comunități locale au contribuit la crearea unui spațiu educativ nou și la formarea unei comunități de copii implicați activ în protejarea biodiversității. Un moment central al proiectului a fost inaugurarea, pe 30 martie 2026, a unui spațiu educativ pe malul râului Strei, sub forma unui turn din lemn, conceput ca punct de observație asupra naturii, în zona Deltei Bretea din comuna Bretea Română. Acesta oferă vizitatorilor o perspectivă asupra zonelor umede și a biodiversității specifice, fiind un loc potrivit atât pentru observarea păsărilor, cât și pentru desfășurarea de activități de educație în aer liber. Gândit ca un punct de observație accesibil și prietenos, spațiul permite elevilor și vizitatorilor să descopere natura prin observație directă și să urmărească schimbările din ecosistem de-a lungul anotimpurilor. Zona Deltei Bretea este un habitat important pentru păsările de apă și de stufăriș. De aici pot fi observate frecvent specii precum lebăda de vară, lăcarul mare, rața mare, corcodelul mic, lișița, stârcul cenușiu, egretă mare sau vânturelul roșu, iar schimbările de sezon aduc de fiecare dată alte prezențe interesante.
