A report by Global Water Intelligence (GWI) and Xylem warns that water-related crises (droughts and floods) have tripled in intensity since 2013 and could become six times more severe by 2040 under current climate trends. It estimates that achieving water security amid these extremes may require about $1.5 trillion in annual investments by 2030, far above today’s spending levels.
