Findings and Feedback from a Participatory Research Project
Date: 6 May
Time: 10:00-11:30 (CEST)
About the webinar
Marine Educational Areas (EMAs) are a unique environmental education initiative where students actively participate in the management of a local natural site. By combining hands-on experience with collaborative decision-making, EMAs empower young people to become stewards of their environment.
This webinar will present key findings from a participatory research project conducted across mainland France and overseas territories. The study explores how children engage with their environment through embodied experiences, place-based learning, and active participation in decision-making.
Drawing on observations, student narratives and drawings, and interviews with teachers, the research highlights both the barriers and enablers that shape meaningful participation in EMAs.
